What is Rock College, Cambridge's very own Rock School all about?

What courses?
Rock College runs a number of different courses each
one tailored to the age and ability of the students.

Rock it (Disability group)
The new year brings a new course for people with a
disability or learning difficulty. Courses will run weekly
on days to be confirmed from 10am to 3pm and cost
£45 per day You can use your Individualised Personal
Budget to pay for it. We have specialist tutors who are
trained and experienced in working with integrated /
disability music groups. More info coming soon but

Band 101
So can you can play a bit but you don't know anyone
else to play with?

This weekend course should be the first point of call
for any budding, bedroom musician. Band 101 will put
you in a band for a weekend with other musicians just
like yourself. You will learn the basics of playing with
other musicians, a hugely beneficial experience that is
not only fun but will speed up your own progress on
your instrument and give you a better all round
musical understanding. For older musicians this
course will also touch on basic music business. For
younger ones it's more about fun with a few music
related games thrown in.

Pimp my band
Already in a band? Going nowhere? Don't know why?

This course gives young bands the opportunity to
come in and design themselves a professional looking
logo, sort out their online and print image as well as
working with the music and performance to maximise
the bands potential.

Got the tunes, tick, got the look, tick. What next?

The music industry can be a hugely complicated

These sessions are for bands who have little or no
gigging experience. Tailored specially to look at the
performance side of things with a few pointers along
the way to help maximise your tunes to hook in an

For those about to Record
Don't waste your money blindly going into the
recording studio. Rock College tutors will work with
your band to get the best out of your songs and
arrangements. You will learn what to expect when you
go into a studio, the recording process and how it
affects the way you play your individual parts. Most of
all they impress upon you the value of being well
rehearsed before going into the studio and help you
get the best out of that rehearsal time.
